Raising the Mighty Dragons: Supporting Neurodivergent Girls & Their Loved Ones.

Do you have a girl in your life that feels she's solving a Rubik's Cube blind while everyone else has the instruction manual? We've been there and that's why we started the Dragon's Nest. If you have a loved one who's been diagnosed or you suspect may have a diagnosis of Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Tourette Syndrome, sensory issues, or other neurodivergence, and the following resonates with you, we hope you'll join the nest. Together, we can change the world.

  • Girls are mis- or undiagnosed: It's estimated that 80% of females are undiagnosed as of the age of 18 because they don't fit autism stereotypes and are masters of masking.
  • Undiagnosed means under supported: Girls aren't heard, understood or appropriately supported in school or social settings, setting them up for mental health issues and a host of other challenges in life.
  • The stereotypes are exhausting: Even many doctors and educators still have dated views of all that autism entails (based on male research and experiences), and most girls present differently.
  • Parenting a girl on the spectrum can feel lonely: We need and crave a community of parents who understand the extremely unique, challenging and rewarding path of raising a neuro-diverse girl.
  • Information out there is still skewed toward autism in boys: The information out there is overwhelming, focused on presentation in boys, and not very actionable.
